Trinity has been providing storage space for donations of furniture and household goods to the Lutheran Social Services Refugee Resettlement Program (LSS Refugee) for a number of years. LSS Refugee has been serving new refugee arrivals since 2008. Due to the increasing scarcity of affordable housing, LSS made the decision to close out refugee resettlement on January 15, 2019; however, ongoing service and case management will continue up to five years for those who already have been settled here. LSS Refugee’s office remains at 322 E. Washington Avenue, Madison WI 53703, with the same office phone (608-250-2671). Please feel free to call the office with any questions.
We would like the remaining items in storage at Trinity to be put to good use and made available to both refugees and any others in need in our community. If you know of someone in need, please contact the LSS Refugee Program or the church office to get an item list and coordinate pickup from Trinity to deliver to those in need in Madison. Thank you for your support and partnership.

WELCA East/West Conference Spring Gathering
Saturday, April 6 at Trinity
Registration 8:30 a.m.
Program 9:00 a.m.
The East/West Conference of Women of the ELCA are having their Spring Gathering on Saturday, April 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church. We are a large conference composed of churches in Madison and the surrounding communities, and we come together once a year to learn and share about what is going on in our synod.
Registration and light refreshments begin at 8:30 a.m., and our morning program will begin at 9:00 a.m. There is no registration cost. There will be a one-hour presentation on UPAVIM, a Guatemalan women’s cooperative. Our synod women have been supporting UPAVIM for many years through the purchase of the handmade crafts they make and sell, and by giving financial support for a school that has been built.
Come learn more about UPAVIM. There will be a salad luncheon at noon. If you have questions, please contact Polly Carter, East/West Coordinator at 271-7912.

We will be looking for volunteers to provide quick breads, muffins and desserts for the luncheon on April 6, as well as people to help serve. Please watch for sign-up sheets in the narthex.
