The greeting is from 1 Timothy, a letter that, among other things, urges Christians to pray for the governing authorities so that we can live in peace. Guyanese Christians did a lot of such praying in the weeks around the national elections last month. In the attached newsletter I write about the government of Guyana and how its recent initiatives are touching the students of the Lutheran Lay Academy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guyana in a good way.
