Wendy Michelle Ward earned a bachelor of music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a master of arts with a certificate in sacred music from the University of Iowa.
Wendy began her tenure at Trinity as a piano accompanist and substitute organist, and has since been named director of music. In this expanded role she is responsible for all aspects of music in worship, including working with the pastor to plan services and choose congregational hymns; choosing music for and directing the vocal choir and handbell ringers; coordinating vocal and instrumental soloists and small group performers; and of course, playing the organ and piano.
Wendy is responsible for introducing the monthly global music Sundays at Trinity. Bringing together a group of local professional Latin and jazz musicians to play worship music from many different cultures within a liturgical framework, she has helped to create a worship experience that is at once unique and distinctly Lutheran.
In addition to her work at Trinity, Wendy teaches private piano lessons. She resides in Madison with her musician husband and their two sons.
