“O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things…. You have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in their distress, a shelter from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat.” (Isaiah 25: 1,4)
As Easter people, we are called to resurrection, to mirror God’s concern for the poor and those who need—as Isaiah puts it—“shelter from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat.” Along with other congregations in our area, Trinity collects financial assistance for people in our community. We pass this money on to St. John’s Lutheran Church, where Hasan Mohr of Porchlight Ministries distributes it in a fair and accountable way. Unfortunately, our fund to assist people in crisis has run dry. Please consider a special financial contribution to Trinity’s Needy Fund to help meet the needs of people in distress.
