Trinity to host urban forestry event
On Saturday, June 22, from 10a.m. to 2 p.m., the Trinity parking lot will be the site of an urban forestry fair. The event will include an on-site demonstration by Sean Gere, who will mill a section of a mighty oak being taken down at Big Oak Childcare Center. The wood milled from this tree will go back to Big Oak, where it will eventually be used for play structures and other items. The event also will include the dedication of Trinity’s Little Free Library. The library was designed by Christina Hogan and is being built by Sean Size using locally-sourced urban wood. It will feature stained glass made by Roberta Carrier. Members of Boy Scout Troop 34 will also build and dedicate an Aldo Leopold-style bench to be installed with the library in front of the church. Please come and take part in this unique event for the whole neighborhood!
