The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2013 under the theme, “Always being made new.” As part of this celebration, September 8, 2013 has been set aside as a day of service in the communities where we live. Many of the 4 million ELCA members in nearly 10,000 congregations will don bright t-shirts and be seen in their communities while engaged in the ministry of service that is such an important part of our faith.
What does doing God’s work with our hands look like at Trinity?
Special t-shirts for “God’s work, our hands” Sunday will be available for Trinity members who wish to participate in this activity. We haven’t yet decided what we might do as a group service project, so if you have ideas pass them on to Pastor Sue or a Council member. In the meantime, please consider taking a photograph of your hands (helping another, or working at something you enjoy) to share with the congregation. All ages are welcome to participate!
