2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the beginnings of the Lutheran Reformation. Assisted by the new technology of the printing press, Martin Luther’s theology, spirituality, and scriptural interpretations swept through the Western world, challenging church authority and nurturing the Protestant movement. Luther died on February 18, 1546, in Eisleben, the city of his birth.
