Journey Toward a New Beginning
The story of Emmaus from Luke’s gospel becomes the pattern of our worship as we recognize Christ at our table every Sunday. Our hearts burn within us as the scriptures are proclaimed and Christ appears to us as bread is broken and wine is poured. During worship on Sunday, May 28, pastor and professional artist Paul Oman helped start us on a journey to a new beginning as he illustrated the story of Emmaus in a painting that will remain with our congregation and serve to tell the story for years to come. We also gave thanks for Pastor Sue’s fifteen years of ordained ministry as we prepared to send her on an art-themed sabbatical for the summer.
