Longest Night Memorial Service

We will not be holding a Longest Night worship service at Trinity this year. However, we have the opportunity to participate in the tenth annual Longest Night Homeless Persons’ Memorial Service sponsored by the Madison Urban Ministry (MUM) and partners on Friday, December 21.

The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. on the Capitol Square at the intersection of East Main/South Pinckney and King Streets, near the marble bench where Dwayne Warren’s body was found on June 26, 2009. A horse-drawn hearse will lead a procession around the Capitol before proceeding to First United Methodist Church for a light meal and interfaith service of light and remembrance.

If you would like to donate warm hats, gloves, socks, or long underwear for distribution through the Beacon homeless day resource center, you may drop them off at First United Methodist Church the day of the service.
